I got to know Michelle through Avin Jason, who is also a contributing artist. Michelle is from Brazil, but was living in Australia at the time. Clearly an explorer, Michelle has since moved to the UK, where she is having an amazing time.
To my untrained eye, I’d say Michelle’s art is like ‘pop art’. The colours stand out, the ideas and themes are so fresh, and my kids just love the energy and directness of the artwork she has shared with us.
In her own words Michelle asked me to put this up.
‘I’m Brazilian illustrator based in the UK.
My parents have always encouraged me to be creative.
I feel comfortable to express myself through art and for me it is also a form of therapy because I feel relaxed and focused in the present moment.
When you see an artwork you’re seeing a part of the artist as well. So I believe Cards Alive it is more than just a simple message in a card but a form to inspire others and see different perspectives from different artists.’
